Blueberries Foster Isn't Just For Ice Cream Anymore- 5 amazing recipes for my blueberry lovers!
I was so excited when my best friend came to visit the other day. She knows I love to bake, so she’s always on the lookout for delicious new products to incorporate into my favorite recipes (that’s what besties are for, right?). On this particular visit, she did not disappoint.
I opened the door and there she was holding a jar of Blueberries Foster. “Surprise!” she said. “A friend of a friend’s uncle owns a blueberry farm in Michigan and just released a new line of products. I instantly thought of you and had to buy something.”
She knows me all too well. The jar of blueberries foster checked all my boxes- locally grown, family owned and organic. Well done!
“I thought you could put it on ice cream and cheesecake and stuff,” she said. Well yes, I could certainly do that (and it would be beyond scrumptious), but there’s so much more you can do with a fruit compote!
“Like what?” she asked. Well my friend, I will show you.
I took her skepticism as a personal challenge to incorporate the blueberries foster into my favorite recipes, and, if I do say so myself, they turned out better than expected!

Blueberry Foster Crepes
If you’ve never had a crepe, you are seriously missing out on one of the finer pleasures in life. Crepes are my, and my husband’s, favorite dessert in the world. A lot of people are intimidated by them, but you shouldn’t be. They aren’t that hard to make. You just have to pay attention. I’ve included a YouTube video (below) for a super simple recipe that anybody can follow.
The great thing about crepes is that you can literally add anything to them and get a different taste profile. For example, add cheese for savory, chocolate for sweet or ham for salty. In this case, I added the blueberries foster.
Stop.It.Right.Now. Best crepes ever- decadent and delicious!
Blueberry Foster Oatmeal
So, this recipe calls for frozen blueberries. Do you know what's better than frozen blueberries? Fresh blueberries foster!
This recipe couldn’t be easier, which is why I love it so much (no one wants to start their morning with a breakfast that takes an hour to bake). Even if you added this to a packet of Quaker instant oatmeal in the microwave, it would seriously take your breakfast to the next level (talk about comfort food). What a great way to start the day!
Bonus points- add it to a banana flavored packet. Blueberries and bananas are the ultimate combination.
Blueberry Foster Muffins
Most baker’s have a go-to, crowd-pleaser recipe. Mine would be my muffin recipe (I’m kind of known for my muffins…it’s not a big deal). I decided to experiment and see if I could add the blueberries foster to my tried and true staple.
Instead of a ½ cup of Greek yogurt, I cut it down to ¼ cup and then used a ¼ cup of the foster. This ensures that my batter wouldn’t be too runny. They turned out excellent! I think the rum flavoring added another dimension of flavor. I brought them to our Father’s Day celebration and everyone just went ga-ga over them.
Blueberry Glazed Donuts
Young or old, everybody loves donuts, especially my blueberry glazed donuts. I thought the blueberry foster would add a little something extra special to an already amazing recipe. I simply used the foster in place of the blueberry jam. This drastically cut down prep time. For a mom with two kids, that's golden. Bring these to your next girlfriend brunch and you will be the most popular girl there (did I mention the blueberries foster has rum and rum flavoring in it?).
Very Berry Pizza
I have small children. If I want them to eat something, I have to turn it into pizza form. Just like magic, it all of a sudden becomes quite enticing.
For this recipe, I simply used the blueberry foster as the berry sauce (instead of making it from scratch). Did I mention I have small children? This was a huge time saver, which was a huge help. The kids loved the pizza and I loved how easy it was to make!
